Over the last decade BMW has bolstered its product line, adding crossover suvs while remaining true to its Ultimate Driving Machine motto. In the midst of the new-product onslaught, the 3 Series has remained its consistent sales leader and the standard of comparison in the sports sedan segment. The 3 Series Coupe is available with two different drivetrains, but both trim levels share distinctive looks and a demeanor that is even more sporting than the well-regarded sedans. The coupe is more than ready to battle prime foes like the Infiniti G35 and the Mercedes-Benz CLK 350. The complete generational changeover dramatically enhanced the sporting personality of the 3 Series Coupe. Its sharp styling is accompanied by available features like a twin-turbo drivetrain and all-wheel drive. For more new car reviews, interviews and automotive news visit kbb.com today.
BMW Vision efficientdynamics Concept @ 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show www.edmunds.com 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show Highlights: www.youtube.com Audi R8 e-Tron @ 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show: www.youtube.com Trust us. Nothing quite like the stunning — and awkwardly named — BMW Vision efficientdynamics concept has ever been seen at the normally staid 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show. For this year’s German show, the Bavarians have conjured up a vision of future transportation that is not only visually arresting, but boasts the performance of an M3 with the environmental impact of a Prius. In other words, a truly “sustainable sports car,” as so characterized by one BMW executive (and numerous bloggers).
Tiff Needell and Jason Plato put the Porsche Cayman and BMW 135i Coupe through their paces
Second session on Saturday, June 14, 2008. Finally let me pass after 1-3/4 laps. Both the BMW driver and I are advanced, high-performance driving instructors. The RX-8 is completely stock except for a B&B muffler and Hawk HP Plus pads on the front. It does not have traction control or stability control. Tires are original stock street Potenzas. No doubt the M5 is stock too, and this has more to do with weight than horsepower. Camera is a Creative Labs Vado cheapcorder stuck to the windshield with a suction cup cellphone holder. Video was recorded upside-down due to the mount, and was transcoded to rotate it. Quality suffered.
