Soenke Kroll explains how BMW´s long-term efficientdynamics vision of emissions-free driving can be summed up with one vehicle: the BMW Hydrogen 7. As the world's first luxury performance sedan with hydrogen drive, it runs on the most plentiful element in the world and emits virtually nothing but water vapor. With its capability of emissions-free driving while running on hydrogen, the BMW Hydrogen7 can drive in London without even paying the London congestion charge. Because the infrastructure for refueling a hydrogen internal combustion engine is not yet complete, the V-12 engine also runs on gasoline at the push of a button. The unique feature of the BMW Hydrogen7 is that it drives on liquid hydrogen, which has a much higher energy desity as if it were in geseous form. The BMW Hydrogen7 is a small series production vehicle of around 100 units prividing the proof-of-concept of BMW´s vision of emissions-free driving. Beyond showcasing the car at international Motor Shows, BMW wants the world's influencers to see up close, and try for themselves..
The summer season is also the convertibleâ??s season. Just recently, the Volkswagen Corporation has launched their line-up of their eight convertibles to heat up the summer season. Although not showcased as one, this year BMW also released their versions of two-door topless cars to join the summer steam: the 2007 BMW 3 series convertible, BMW M6 convertible, BMW Z4 convertible and the BMW Z4 M convertible (all built with BMW Catalytic converter).
The BMW 3 series convertible is available in two versions, the BMW 335i and the 328i. The exteriors of the convertibles give them a very distinctive style and elegance. Both the convertible has the three roof elements folding conveniently into luggage compartments. To add to its premium looks, the two versions both have distinctive engines of their own. The BMW 335i is engineered with BMWâ??s newest inline six-cylinder engine with twin turbochargers and intercooler for 300 unbelievable supple horsepower. The 328i convertible has a built in mighty 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that powers up to 230 horsepower with Valvetronic technology and aluminum/magnesium construction.
The convertible version of the BMW M6 is powered by the engine of the BMW coupe only that the passengers will enjoy the open air. It is powered by the 5.0-liter V10 engine that generates 507 horsepower. This powers the car from 0-62mph in 4.8 seconds before speeding up to 155mph and if unchecked to 200mph eventually. Crafted with wood-grain trim options and carbon fiber splash, the M6 convertible is impressive sight. Its soft top design is a Fin Structure that has a triple layered hood that assembles like coupe silhouette.
Next BMW convertible in line is the BMW Z4. The BMW Z4 roadster bears the perfect aura of a sports car. Perfected with long bonnet, long wheelbase and short over hangs, the Z4 is no doubt an above standard roadster. A roof that folds in less than 10 seconds, whoever you are, a girl or a boy, man or a woman, the Z4 is the car you would want to be seen in. The engine is a six-cylinder Z4 Roadster that generates a powerful and premium performance. It powers to 195 kW that accelerates the vehicle from 0-100 km/h within 5.7 seconds. The 2.5 liter engine version speeds up the car to 100 km/h within 6.5 seconds.
The M series of the Z4 makes our magic four. This beautiful sports car sports the 3.2 liter, 24-valve inline six-cylinder engine that had been awarded â??engine of the yearâ? for five times in a row by an international juryâ??youâ??ll go 0-60 within 4.9 seconds. This engine has 330 horsepower at a maximum of 7,900 rpm.

With an increase of 2.9 percent from the first four months of 2006, the BMW Group in the U.S announced that the company has sold 104,125 vehicles from January to April of 2007. Last year’s first four months of sales totaled to 101,151 vehicles.
BMW US reported April 2007 is one of the strongest months of sales in the country. Twenty eight thousand six hundred ninety two (28,692) vehicles were sold in April 2007. It projects a 0.5 percent increase from April 2006 sales, which totaled to 28,563 vehicles.
Meanwhile, BMW brand this year still has strong sales with a 4.9 percent increase as compared to its sales last year. Ninety two thousand six hundred seventy (92,670) vehicles were sold from January to April this year, while 88,353 vehicles were sold last year.
Twenty five thousand three hundred ten (25,310) BMW brand vehicles were sold in April 2007, making a 0.2 percent increase from last April 2006’s 25,250 vehicles.
Sales of BMW automobiles from January to April 2007 were pegged at 71,907 automobiles. This showed a 5.3 percent increase from last year’s same period sales of 68,311. In April 2007 alone, a significant 10.1 percent increase was got by BMW from its 18,427 sales in April 2006 to 20,290 sales in April this year.
However, the company experienced a 26.4 percent decrease in its sales of sports activity vehicles. Only 5,020 vehicles were sold this April compared to 6,823 sold vehicles in April last year. The X5 showed a 21.8 percent increase in sales in April 2007 as compared to its sales during the same period last year.
Meanwhile, January to April sales of BMW sports activity vehicles increased 3.6 percent; from 20,042 sold vehicles during the same period last year to 20,763 vehicles this year.
Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) sales in April 2007 decreased 12 percent, which totals to 7,368 CPO sales, versus April 2006 sales. From January to April 2007, CPO sales also went down; but this time only 7.9 percent. From 28,630 last year, sales reached only 26,376 this year.
Two point one (2.1) percent sales on BMW automobiles increase was reported by MINI USA. Three thousand three hundred eighty two (3,382) automobiles were sold this April and 3,313 automobiles were sold on the same period last year. From April to January 2007, MINI USA reported a 10.5 percent sales decrease from 12,798 cars sold last year to 11,455 cars sold this year.
BMW, maker of quality BMW catalytic converter, and MINI brands combined, BMW Group in America was established to include BMW brand, the MINI brand, and the Rolls-Royce brand of Motor Cars.
