Thank Alinghi just as much my friend.

  2. IcelandPride Says:

    I agree completely

  3. albertwild40 Says:

The fastest boats in the world, racing in one of the oldest contests, multihulls belong at the cutting edge and should also have a spot in the olympics. This is awesome.

  4. Theriomalstrom Says:

Tactically, yes – but design-wise? Multihulls have been developing technologically by leaps and bounds over the past few years.

  5. PAFC1993 Says:

as awesome as these 2 boats are and it will interesting to see who comes out on top,
the americas cup has always been a monohull cup and it should stay that way really, monihulls are much better to watch tactically and design wise

  6. dumon13 Says:

I dont know what other people may think about all these inovations on the americascup but i think that is all vey good for the sailing community, because it is taking sailing into a whole new level, a new HIGHTECH sailing, now I think that sailing has as much techonology involved than Formula1, the next things I want to see sailing as fast as it can go,I want to see how fast they will be in 50years, and show all these powerboats fans that sailing can be a fast and clean way of maritime transport

  7. whataname01 Says:

Is not the usual Americas Cup anymore… cat boats with motors to trim the sails, why not just use a sail drone robot!

  8. ando166791 Says:

although oracle is deadly, im gonna have to back alinghi on this one..

  9. pbaker123 Says:

I think getting a court involved is doing neither party a favour. Not for Oracle/BMW because it makes Ellison look like a poor litigation happy loser (sure to fan anti-US feelings), and not for Alinghi because they have to waste time on pointless games. Both parties can do better, and both have pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in sailing. May the best one win – with sailing, not in court.

  10. scottishjoe Says:

finn379 Greedy arrogant wankers? Maybe, but Alinghi are even worse!
You sound like a bit of an idiot just launching into your pointless rant – It’ll be two of the fastest yachts ever made (top speed won’t be highest) MATCH-RACING, with closing speeds of 60kts! That’s not boring.
Shame it had to happen like this & the other challengers have been dealt a shitty hand, but there would have been an Alinghi monopoly on the cup for years otherwise..

  11. finn379 Says:

GREEDY ARROGANT WANKERS. no1 who really follows the americas cup wants to see this 2 boat crap attack. they have ruined the 33rd americas cup and have again turned it into an event which is so hard to follow as it isnt scheduled bi-annually. the aim of ISAF and indeed the majority of the sailing comunity is to make sailing more spectator friendly, raise the profile of the sport and make it recognisable as one of, if not the most difficult sport there is.
Thank you Oracle for ruining this

  12. dumon13 Says:

and now alinghi is finally finishin his 90ft wave piercing catamaran

  13. rubiconxj Says:

it was amazing watching it up by the san juans, it was moving over twice the speed of the wind, WAY OVER!

  14. romgilb Says:

    Belle machine !
