dude i own an m3 with smg 2, i am stricly anti auto gearboxes as i like to feel involved, but the smg box once ure used to it is a AMAZING! firstly is is actually a manual gearbox electronically controlled. gearshifts are brilliant and if like me you get the chance of having one with paddle shifts, off the line sprints are brillaintly fun. makes u feel like a f1 driver. however i took me about a month to get used to it.

This is FIFTH gear!

I think I actually prefer a straight six over a V-8 in a car like this.

I’m test driving one today. I found a 2005 with 41,000 miles. Asking $29,000 U.S. I like the drive and luxury but still a little too expensive for a 2005. Great car though!

if you’re looking at one, get the 6 speed, NOt the SMG, it’s hard because you gotta know when to shift, and plus it takes more HP off the crank to run an automatic tranny. if you can’t drive a stick and happen to have an SMG, go online and see what people do to get the most outta the SMG…….. check out my video with me driving the M3, it was an SMG, i was not impressed

Why is it hard to use? just wondering cuz im looking at m3s

Rubbish review I’ll stick with Top Gear.

i definitley think it is the final true bmw look but we’ll see they’re not done yet and yes the e46 m3 went from 2001-2006

it doesn’t matter, i you have the smg, you better know how to drive it or anyting can beat you, i beat one just the other day with 5 speed mustang GT, it was a 6 speed, he would’ve kicked my ass, but was SMg and didn’t know how to drive it

you got it backwards, its 4.6 seconds for manual, 4.8 seconds for SMG, 5.1 seconds for cabriolet US Spec
February 14th, 2010 at 3:09 am
best looking m3 ever
February 14th, 2010 at 4:06 am
M3 of 2004?
February 14th, 2010 at 4:53 am
you should get the m3 because since your dad was an f1 driver, he would want you in a car that handles as well as goes fast in a straight line… the charger is better suited going in a straight line… not curves.
February 14th, 2010 at 5:49 am
since u have this car do u thnk for my first car i should get this or a srt8 425 bhp charger (keep in mind my dad was an f1 racer and i just well i can drive too)
