when i bought it the people had it done at about 50,000 or 60,000 miles, and its got 75,000 now. it was a special kit for the z3s with instalation and everything it costed 3,000 even. but it went from 0-60 in bout 9 secs to 0-60 in under 6.5, and added 77 horesepower. so it jumped from 148hp to 225hp.
wasnt meaning stock, and not if u get it done at tha dealer wit ha bmw supercharger kit the kits been in mine since 2000 and had zip problems with it. and it jus adds more weight to the front making it lighter on the its back tires. actually ive compared mine to the regular stock 2.8 liter 6 cylinder and mine seems to be faster on the get go. it gets to 60 in under 7 seconds.
supercharged stock z3 doesn t exist;) just in USA some tuner could ruin a car this way..it has no meaning..moreover theu supercharger or the turbo would compromise the already strange and complicated weight distribution of this car…increasing the understeer for example…if you wanna have better specifical buy the M..with another suspension system..,or the 3.0….don t waste money with this rubbish..it s not the right car..
If I have the money, I’d spend it on buying a z3 M coupe for everyday use and z3 M roadster for the weekends or just pop out to the shops. I don’t care if they call me a hairdresser. I think this is more of a man’s car since you don’t get that fancy stuff you get in the SLK (the first generation one).
And that would be the new z4. It actually resembles more of the z3 due to it’s facelift compared to the 1st z4 but I think the z3 will always be the better car since you can have fun with it and don’t have to worry about how many settings do you want. It’s as complicated as wood. I think it’s pretty much like the Mazda Miata only a bit better looking.
So, I have one of these and would never do this shit to my Z3 M. I don’t understand the appeal but DO like to drive fast on a straight road, and I do as such. Bliss.
He forgot to mention that you need RWD for donuts. That helps a bit. The M roadster is a serious machine, and it is a fun car to drive. The weight makes for a smooth ride. It has so many options that Corvette and others did not have. Its a wonderful car.
no..neither on wet..torque is put down in a terrible way and masses deplacement isn t optimal to make that without aid..moreover first speed isn t long enough to decharge power this way without LSD..while 2nd is too long to create a reaction like that just starting with so few torque..and clutch can t totally help you…(and heats in a few times on this car..) i have one…limited edition british racing green 1999
bah…z3 m has LSD…on a normal z3 (in particular 4-cylinders) it s impossible to make a doughnut just starting, it needs a weight transfer…and the car it s really…really more nervous
is it possible to flip your car when doing this???????? becauce my bmw has soft suspension and it leans over i dont or maybe it feels like that because its the first time i tried. i was going full speed into reverse and tried to turn my front to the back. a J/turn they call it i believe of course im practicing on perfect asfalt

I think my 2.8 gets to 60 in about 6.5 seconds. How much did your kit cost?

i’m seriously debating between a z3 and a z4. But yet again the z3 does have the upper hand on class and originality.

I got my z3 yesterday. OMG.

Nice car!and nice review

My feeling is that BMW may one day bring the z3 back into production, with a few changes but keep the classic Roadster look.

Z3 makes me more happy then the Z4. How ever the 2009 version is doable.
